Privacy Policy

Honeybun is a budgeting app for individuals, couples, and families. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we only keep what the app needs to work, we never sell your data, and you can download or delete it anytime.

What we collect

• Account details: your name, email address, and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your actual password.
• What you add to Honeybun: income, expenses, bills, paydays, savings goals, budgets, debts, and notes you type in.
• Settings: your language, time zone (so reminders arrive at a sensible hour), theme, and email preferences.
• Progress: carrots, levels, and streaks.
• Basic technical data: like any website, our hosting provider may briefly process your IP address to keep the service running and secure (for example, to block repeated failed log-ins).

We don't connect to your bank, and we don't collect card numbers or account numbers. Please don't type them into notes.

Who can see your information

Everything you add to a shared budget is visible to the other people in that budget, except entries you mark "Only I can see this." If you leave a budget, what you already added stays with that budget so their records stay complete.

How we use it

• To run the app: show your budget, sync it between devices, and keep it secure.
• To send emails you need: confirming your email and resetting your password.
• To send reminders you can turn off: bills due soon, streak reminders, and a weekly recap.

We don't show ads, we don't sell or rent your data, and we don't use it to train AI models.

Services we use

• Cloudflare hosts the app and stores your data.
• Resend delivers our emails.
• Google Fonts provides the app's fonts, so your browser loads them from Google.

Cookies

We use a single essential cookie to keep you logged in. The app also saves a few small things on your device, like your language and a copy of your budget so it works offline. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Your choices

• Download your data: Together → Settings → Download my data.
• Delete your account: Together → Settings → Delete my account. This removes your account and your private entries right away. If you're the last person in a budget, the whole budget is deleted too.
• Emails: turn reminders off in Settings or with the link at the bottom of any reminder.

Security

Passwords are hashed, connections are encrypted with HTTPS, log-in sessions are protected, and repeated failed attempts are limited. No system is perfect, so please use a strong password you don't use anywhere else.

Children

Honeybun is meant for people 13 and older. Kids can be part of a family's budget story, but they shouldn't create their own accounts.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app.
